The cold and dark season is a strain for your skin. Its capacity to regenerate in the Winter is throttled anyway, due to the cold, the wind and the dry heating air. In the Winter, it is therefore particularly important to adapt the skin care to the requirements of this season.
During the Winter, the metabolism works only half as efficiently as usual, to use as little energy as possible, and regenerative processes are much slower than usual- The production of the talcum glands decreases and the skin dries out. The skin is less irrigated, often looks tired, pale and the elasticity of the skin is weakened.
During the Winter, the skin suffers greatly from the presence in heated rooms, in which the air is almost always far too dry. The lack of daylight must be taken into account as well Offices and work places are lit synthetically for hours, and on the way to and from work, it may well be still dark, or dark again.
The conditions mentioned here above also leave their trace on the skin: their natural oil and moisture concentration decrease, the skin becomes more sensitive, tense, and small flaky spots may appear as well. This is the reason why a slightly richer care product should be used for the daily care, such as the INTENSIVE CARE III-V, while the combined application with the BASIC CARE II and the CONCENTRATE II or IV is advisable to improve moisture and calm the skin.
To prevent the loss of moisture and dryness, it is advisable not only to apply particular care to the morning and the evening treatment, but also to soothe the skin through an intensive care once or twice a week. Therefore the MASK III provides a lot of moisture, while the MASK I provides the skin with vitamins and valuable lipids.
Even the winter sport we all like to use to escape the great Winter days represents a further strain for the skin. It is not only exposed to strong cold, but also to an extremely intense UV-impact. To protect the face from the cold, the skin should be covered well with a “fat cream” such as the INTENSIVE CARE V. Onto this oil basis one should then apply the SUN CARE II with its high percentage sun protection by LSF 20. The eye area and the lips are treated with the rich LIP CARE II.
When one changes from cold to warm, the cheeks and the nose often begin to “glow”. This is a stronger irrigation of the skin, which is produced, among other factors, by the strong temperature changes in the Winter ( cold outside - warm heated air in the rooms). Here, the goal is to strengthen the small veins by using acting agents such as buckeye in the CONCENTRATE III, to avoid unpleasant restless red legs syndrome (widened veins) and the tendency to red spots can be reduced.
The Winter is the time for turtlenecks and scarves. This often leads to the formation of dryness wrinkles with dry skin in the neck and décolleté area, and to pimples in the neck and back area in the case of oily skin.
The reasons for that are, that the skin is constantly dried out and rubbed by wearing wool and raw fabrics. This leads to a constant skin irritation, which can express itself through pimples, among other things. Here, the regular application of the CONCENTRATE V, VII or VIII helps fast through the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial or keratolytic properties - especially, when winter scarves, which are usually infested with bacteria, are washed regularly.
Since the skin of the neck possesses very few talcum glands, such a specific neck cream should always be particularly rich. Here, one might suggest the INTENSIVE CARE IV or V, which have a strongly regenerating and lipid replenishing effect through the high oil concentration and the acting agents in high dosage, to optimally counterbalance the constant drying out by collars or scarves.
We can probably all note that in the Winter, our cuticles become fragile and red, brittle and flaky spots appear on the hands without sufficient care.
This can be treated by a regular application of the HAND CARE I. The sugar isomers contained therein deposit on the skin cells like a protective glove, and thus protect them durably from drying out and the cold. Valuable natural oils and bisabolol additionally treat the skin and apply care to the nails.
Sad Winter days are ideal to relax at home and treat oneself to a nice beauty day. This could start by preparing a pot of wonderfully hot tea. In the form of a purging oil package for the whole body, the OIL CARE I and a cup of calming tea allows you to distance yourself from the everyday life. The body package may act for relaxing 10-20 minutes underneath a bathrobe.
The subsequent body peeling with the BODY SCRUB loosens hornification and stimulates irrigation. Excess product is then cleaned off with the BODY CLEANSER II in the shower or in a hot bath, for the skin to feel soft again.
Follow up with a regenerating hair washing with the SHAMPOO I and a regenerating hair treatment with the HAIR CARE I.
After that, the face is soothed with a peeling and a mask. While the mask acts, the body skin dried out by the winter and the clothes can be soothed by a BODY CARE or a SPECIAL CARE, and the feet will feel refreshed and smooth after a quick foot massage with the FOOT CARE I.
After the removal of mask-excess, you can relax on your couch in a cosy home dress and thick socks and savour the day with a nice movie or a good book.
